ABOUT DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING

Civil Engineering is the core branch of engineering and covers a wide area related to all kind of infrastructure work – roads to air strips, rails to ship, buildings to bridges, dams to canals and factories to forts; every where a civil engineer is needed. Unlike other branches demand for skilled professionals in civil engineering never dies. It is one of the most every green branches from point of view of placements and growth. These days most of the jobs and projects are multidisciplinary in nature and you will find that civil engineer is part of almost every project. Even if it is a electronics or communication project or mechanical work or chemical and Metallurgical industry or even aviation and defence work civil engineers are needed everywhere. Civil Engineering offers great opportunity to start own enterprise also. The fields of work in civil engineering are very wide from design to construction, from development to maintenance and from consultancy to management. Civil Engineering was mostly known for field work and blue color jobs but with computer and automation becoming integral part of civil engineering lot of sophistication has come in work environment. Civil Engineering in RabindraNath Tagore University has most sophisticated labs with latest software and computing system and also provides most rigorous training in the field and factories. Programmes in Civil Engineering at RabindraNath Tagore University trains students to become efficient, skilled professional with a distinct edge over others.
