About Faculty of Computer Science and IT

The Department of Computer Science and IT at RNTU was established in 2011 keeping inline with growing demands of the various industries. IT and Services industry plays a major part in India’s economy, so it is our responsibility to train and educate the youth for a successful career in the industry. The department offers DCA, PGDCA, M.Sc. (CS/IT), BCA, BSC(CS/IT)). Out of the offered courses DCA and PGDCA are 1-year diploma courses for graduates in science, computer science, and IT. All the courses offered by the department of computer science and IT provide practical skills along with all the necessary theoretical background and details. The practical skills are taught keeping them inline with the emerging trends as well as the changing requirements of business houses and the IT industry. These courses provide students with in-depth knowledge of programming methodologies, software tools, Internet techniques, networking and administration etc. The course includes Windows, Linux, C++, DOT NET, Java, Oracle, Internet Technology, Multimedia, Computer Graphics, Compiler Design, Database Management Systems, Computer Networks, and Emerging Technologies etc.

The students are also required to take part in a major project during their final semester. The department has a well-equipped laboratory with Servers, LCD Projector, Visual Presenter, Pen Drives, laser printers, DVD writers etc. We believe that continuously improving competency and innovation are at the core of the education system. We provide students with a large variety of learning aids and facilities to help them become pro-active and competent academic professionals. The students are provided with exposure to practical classroom teaching opportunities and relevant communication skills to help them gain confidence in their abilities. We believe that an academic professional should be ready to transform and make improvements in the established conventions of teaching.

The Department of Computer Science and IT at Rabindranath Tagore University, one of the best college in Bhopal, is dedicated to inculcate all the necessary academic, practical, and life skills to the students to facilitate in their overall growth and success. It also helps in inculcating professional ethics along with human values in the candidates to help them take decisions and build paths in direction of overall progress of the society.

  • An ability to apply mathematical foundations, algorithmic principles, and computer science theory in the modeling and design of computer-based systems in a way that demonstrates comprehension of the tradeoffs involved in design choices;

The Program Specific outcome are that, upon completion, the students will have developed:

Overview : -

Master of Science in Information Technology is a 2-year post-graduate degree programme designed for students who want to make their career in the field of Information Technology. The course covers subjects like introduction to programming, software engineering, strategic management, information technology planning an reengineering, networking system, digital logic, Database Management System, and more. The candidates are also given extensive project assignments and internships to enhance and cultivate their analytical thinking for solving practical problems. The candidate, after the course, can work in capacities of testing engineer, maintenance engineer, technical operations analyst, IT analyst, software engineer, network planning manager, application programmer, software engineer, and more. The candidate can also go for higher studies with courses like Ph.D.

Bachelor of Science in Information Technology is a 3-year graduate degree programme designed for students who want to make their career in the field of information technology. The course covers subjects like computer fundamentals and emerging technology, technical communication skills, networking and internet environment, web programming, data structure using C language, C++ and Object Oriented Programming, and more. The candidates are also given extensive project assignments and internships to enhance and cultivate their analytical thinking for solving practical problems. The candidate, after the course, can work in capacities of systems analyst, application analyst, quality assurance analyst, software developer, web designer, technical sales representative, IT consultant, network engineer, IT support analyst, software developer, software tester, and more. The candidate can also go for higher studies with courses like Master of Science (M.Sc.) in IT.

Duration : - 3 Year

The course covers subjects like computer fundamentals and emerging technology, technical communication skills, networking and internet environment, web programming, data structure using C language, C++ and Object Oriented Programming, and more. The candidates are also given extensive project assignments and internships to enhance and cultivate their analytical thinking for solving practical problems. The candidate, after the course, can work in capacities of systems analyst, application analyst, quality assurance analyst, software developer, web designer, technical sales representative, IT consultant, network engineer, IT support analyst, software developer, software tester, and more. The candidate can also go for higher studies with courses like Master of Computer Application (M.C.A).
