ABOUT DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE ENGINEERING

Computer Science & Engineering is a discipline that integrates several fields i.e. computer hardware & software, electronics and electrical, communication and information technology etc. Computers have revolutionized life of every one in India and during last couple of decades Computer Science & Engineering has become biggest job provider and source of largest number successful start ups. It has totally changed the computing field, communication system, information system and management processes. It has ushered in new digital era in life of a comma man. A degree in Computer Science & Engineering is guarantee of a good job and rewarding career. CSE department in RabindraNath Tagore University provides excellent learning environment in terms of very experienced faculty, most modern labs and equipment and world class infrastructure. There are two main avenues in CSE, Hardware and Software. We focus on both aspects with the principle of one student one computer with personal attention of the teacher. Domains like Machine learning Data mining, Computer Network, Security, High performing computing, Hardware - Software - co - design, IoT, Embedded System, Soft Computing, Parallel Processing, Cloud Computing etc are so well equipped that effective learning is assured. A system of continuous evaluation through large number of assignments, tests, seminars, quizzes, interactive sessions with experts; exists. The department has strong linkages with industries, corporate and other institutions in India and outside. Microsoft has established a Cloud Computing Lab. There are 7 MoU’s with foreign Universities and 15 within the country. The depth emphasizes an effective teaching- learning system which includes project based learning using most modern tools and techniques. At least one to two value addition Workshops/Training courses at departmental level and about 2-3 seminar/conferences at University level, ensure great exposure. Skill Academy in the University provides with excellent opportunity to learn minimum 4 skills during UG and 2 skills during PG courses.
