Programme overview

The Diploma in Forensic Science programme in India has emerged in response to the requirement for specialists who are trained and equipped to solve crimes. The one-year programme aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of science that can help them in criminal investigations. Because students will later have to assist at crime scenes, the training aims to expand their intellectual as well as practical understanding. Due to the nation's alarmingly high crime rate, India is in dire need of forensic science experts. Students can choose an occupation that best fits their interests and skill set from among the wide range of careers that are open to them after graduation.

  • PO1: After completion of the course, the students will be able to analyse and interpret forensic evidence using scientific concepts and procedures, including crime scene investigation, laboratory analysis, and data interpretation.
  • PO2: Students will be able to successfully explain complex forensic science concepts, methods, and conclusions to a range of audiences, including members of the legal profession, judges, and the general public.
  • PO3: Graduates will be able to use analytical and logical reasoning to identify and analyse evidence, formulate hypotheses, and draw well-informed conclusions. They will also be able to think critically and solve challenges in forensic science.

  • PSO1: The learner will be able to explain the basic ideas and operations of forensic science and the importance of forensic science to society.
