About Faculty of Education

Education plays the key role in the transformation and development of a society. RNTU, the best college in Bhopal , has established the Department of Education with an aim to develop and nurture future academic professionals of the country. Education and Teaching are considered the noblest of all professions and is one of the most popular career choices among students.

We believe that continuously improving competency and innovation are at the core of the education system. We provide students with a large variety of learning aids and facilities to help them become pro-active and competent academic professionals. The students are provided with exposure to practical classroom teaching opportunities and relevant communication skills to help them gain confidence in their abilities. We believe that an academic professional should be ready to transform and make improvements in the established conventions of teaching.

The Department of Education at Rabindranath Tagore University, one of the best B.Ed. College in Bhopal, is dedicated to inculcate all the necessary academic, practical, and life skills to the students to facilitate in their overall growth and success. It also helps in inculcating professional ethics along with human values in the candidates to help them take decisions and build paths in direction of overall progress of the society.


Programme Offered By Education

Programme: - B. Ed.

Duration : - 2 Year

Eligiblity Criteria : - Graduation With 50%

Procedure : - On the basis of merit / AJEE

Programme Outcome : -

Students will be able to:-

  • To provide the teacher skills required for effective instructional institutional management.
  • To obtain a total perspectives of the role of technologies in modern educational practices.
  • The college aims at an integral and personalized training of young men and women through integral Pedagogy- context, Experience. Reflection Action and Evaluation- to be well motivated teachers, who will be intellectually competent, morally upright, socially committed and spiritually inspired.
  • To select appropriate devices of evaluation.
  • To develop a sense of responsibility towards conservation of environment.
  • To develop reasonable understanding about the note of school and education in fostering the idea of learning to live in harmony with nature.
  • The students who take their training here become well formed guides who will accompany the young learner on his journey of becoming a fully human person. The college therefore offers an all-round training, one that is at once intellectual, cultural, social, emotional, physical, aesthetic, moral and spiritual.
  • To develop the professional skills required for guiding pupils in the three initial areas educational, penal and victual.
  • The department further aims at promoting values such as respect for Indian common cultural heritage, egalitarianism, democracy, secularism, equality of sexes, protection of environment, removal of social barriers, responsible use of cybernetics and mass media, transparency and probity in private and public life, observance of small family norms, national unity, and respect for religious and moral values.
  • To understand intelligence motivation and various types of exceptional child.
  • In addition, the department aims at conduction in service programmes for teachers and administrators already working in schools in order to update them on educational issues and findings and to develop the required skills using modern information technology and innovation practices. Besides, the department will undertake documentation and research in relevant educational areas.

Programme Specific Outcome : -

Overview : -

Bachelor of Education is a 2-year degree programme designed for students who want to make their career in teaching. The course covers subjects like contemporary India and education, childhood and growing up, understanding ITC and applications, languages across the curriculum, assessment of learning, knowledge and curriculum, learning and teaching, community camps, and more. The candidates are also given extensive project assignments and internships to enhance and cultivate their analytical thinking for solving practical problems. The candidate, after the course, can work in capacities of counsellor, content writer, administrator, teacher, education researcher, librarian, associate dean and more.

Programme: - B.P.Ed.

Duration : - 2 Year

Master of Education is a 2-year post-graduate degree programme designed for students who want to make their career in teaching. The course puts focus on experimentation with new teaching techniques and methodology of educational research. The course covers subjects like sociology of education, history and political economy of education, psychology of learning and development, philosophy of education, and introduction to educational research. The candidates are also given extensive project assignments and internships to enhance and cultivate their analytical thinking for solving practical problems. The candidate, after the course, can work in capacities of junior assistant, head master, counsellor, soft skills trainer, lecturer, professor, and more.
