The Master of Arts in Education is a 2-year postgraduate programme designed for students who want to make their career as teachers and educators. The programme covers subjects like sociology of education, history and political economy of education, psychology of learning and development, philosophy of education, and an introduction to educational research. The programme puts the focus on experimentation with new teaching techniques and the methodology of educational research. The candidates are given extensive project assignments and dissertation research work to enhance and cultivate their analytical thinking for solving practical problems. The candidate, after the programme, can work in the capacities of counsellor, content writer, administrator, teacher educator, and education researcher.It equips students with the knowledge, research skills, and critical thinking abilities needed to address educational challenges, contribute to educational advancements, and make a positive impact on the field of education.

  • PO1 - To know, select, and use learner-centred teaching methods; to understand the paradigm shift in conceptualising disciplinary knowledge in school curriculum; and to develop the necessary competencies for organising learning experiences.

  • PO3 - To develop an analysis of the curriculum, construct a blueprint, select appropriate teaching strategies according to the needs of students, and conduct action research to solve classroom problems.
