Programme overview

The M.Sc. (Ag.) in Agricultural Entomology programme at Rabindranath Tagore University is a two-year post-graduate programme that gives students an in-depth understanding of insects. To address insect biodiversity and conservation across the biological food chain, as well as reduce the damaging effects of insect pests and the associated monetary losses. the ability to carry out different plant protection sectors, proficiency in identifying and managing pests, beekeeping, identifying the major insect pests of crops and their natural enemies, and IPM tactics.

How will you benefit

It helps students to be aware of the many types of insect pests and how they affect various cultural practises of crops.
It develops students' abilities to come up with novel solutions for numerous problems that arise in the practise of sustainable agriculture.
Students gain knowledge and skills in IPM.
Modern pest management practises and commercial entomology have made it possible for recent postgraduates to be hired, offering the course a wide range of employment and career choices.

What will you study

Current concept of pest management.

Impact of weather factors on the population fluctuation of insect pests

The role of insects in agroecosystems and their relationship with their factors

Research for sustainable agriculture and plant protection.
