The two-year M.Sc. in Agricultural Extension and Communication, offered by the Faculty of Agriculture at Rabindranath Tagore University (RNTU), focuses on developing professionals in agricultural education, communication, and rural development. The programme combines academic learning with practical field exposure, enabling students to understand and apply modern agricultural extension practices effectively.   • PO-1. It provides ways to maximise agricultural produce.

  • PO-2. To familiarise myself with extension teaching methods and extension programme planning.??

  • PO-3. It helps to provide adequate knowledge about extension work, its practical importance, the role of the worker, teachings, and how practically aware the farmers are, plan the discussions, and inform the farmers about new techniques and machinery.
  • PO-4: Practically perform campaigns, lectures, speaking in groups, and visits.
  • PO-5. Indicates communicating the innovations to the farmers.??

  • PSO-1: Get exposure to a new rural area and the socio-economic condition of the people.
  • PSO-2. Get knowledge from ancient to modern agricultural practises.
  • PSO-3. Face the rural reality during the rural living and learning experience.
  • PSO-4: Get in-depth practical knowledge of crop cultivation practises.
  • PSO-5. Cope with adverse situations during the rural stay in different remote parts of rural Bengal.

  • PSO-8. Disseminate recent agricultural technologies through extension.

  • PEO-1. Be eligible for employment offered by banks, finance sectors, NGOs, Private sectors, and government sectors.
  • PEO-2. Pursue jobs in Nationalised Banks, the Reserve Bank, State banks, NABARD, etc. as Agriculture Officers, Agriculture Assistant Officers, Probationary Officers, Field Officers, and Rural Development Officers.
  • PEO-3. Work in different agricultural universities as a JRF (Junior Research Fellowship), SRF (Senior Research Fellowship), or TA (technical assistant).
  • PEO-4: Create job opportunities for unemployed youths through teaching, research, training, extension, etc., especially for the development of socially and economically depressed segments of society.
