Programme overview

The two-year MSc in Agricultural Extension and Communication program is offered by the Faculty of Agriculture at RNTU. Numerous prolonged exercises in agricultural training and farming education are provided in this programme. It helps the students learn and put superior agricultural improvement techniques into practise. The objectives of this programme are to conduct an extensive and in-depth study to maximise innovative agricultural techniques that will promote more rural development, to get a deeper knowledge of the subject's foundations in the field of study of choice, and to acquire the knowledge and expertise needed to do independent research.

  • PO-1. It provides ways to maximise agricultural produce.
  • PO-2. To familiarise myself with extension teaching methods and extension programme planning.??

  • PO-3. It helps to provide adequate knowledge about extension work, its practical importance, the role of the worker, teachings, and how practically aware the farmers are, plan the discussions, and inform the farmers about new techniques and machinery.
  • PO-4: Practically perform campaigns, lectures, speaking in groups, and visits.

  • PSO-1: Get exposure to a new rural area and the socio-economic condition of the people.

  • PEO-1. Be eligible for employment offered by banks, finance sectors, NGOs, Private sectors, and government sectors.
  • PEO-2. Pursue jobs in Nationalised Banks, the Reserve Bank, State banks, NABARD, etc. as Agriculture Officers, Agriculture Assistant Officers, Probationary Officers, Field Officers, and Rural Development Officers.
  • PEO-3. Work in different agricultural universities as a JRF (Junior Research Fellowship), SRF (Senior Research Fellowship), or TA (technical assistant).
  • PEO-4: Create job opportunities for unemployed youths through teaching, research, training, extension, etc., especially for the development of socially and economically depressed segments of society.
