Along with teaching and academic research leading to doctorate degree, RNTU gives high priority to research and development. RNTU is actively involved in collaborative programs with national and international organizations/universities to remain at the forefront of scientific and technological developments and to share knowledge. The key research areas are Renewable Energy, Agriculture & Food Processing, Material Science & Nonmaterial, Water, Environment & Soil, Biotechnology, Mining, IoT & Advanced Computing, Liberal Arts, Literature & Culture.

CORE RESEARCH AND INNOVATION GROUP

CRIG – A UNIQUE CONCEPT

CRIG (Core Research and Innovation Group) was established in 2017 to help develop research facilities and build an environment for research, innovation, skill development, consultancy and entrepreneurship in Six AISECT Group of Universities. It has proved to be a force multiplier and an excellent example of collaboration and synergy, where human and material resources of six universities came together in a multidisciplinary, multi-institutional mode for optimum use of resources and to generate a strong spirit of cooperation.

Since then, many other international and national organizations from academia and industries have been brought into the fold through MoUs for research projects and activities. An advisory panel of 25 nationally and internationally renowned experts from various fields is also part of this network. Seed money of annual Rs. One Crore and attractive incentives are transforming the research landscape in the AISECT Group of Universities with an unprecedented number of projects, papers, books, events, consultancies and innovations.

Vision

The Core Research & Innovation Group (CRIG) of AISECT Group of Universities (AGU) will develop an effective environment for meaningful research and innovation in all constituent universities of AGU through development of research projects, research facilities, publication of research work, organization of research-related events/activities, and promotion of innovative ideas for research.

Mission

• To develop a culture of research and innovation amongst faculty, researchers and students in the AISECT Group.
• To help AGU in building Centers of Research Excellence in constituent universities in their respective areas of expertise and to explore new frontiers of research.
• To invest in promising research work and researchers through internal funding.
• To motivate researchers in AGU to take up projects of social and national relevance and explore external funding agencies.
• To develop own research journals and publish quality research material, and work towards indexing and recognition of these journals.
• To assist AGU constituents in organizing national and international research events to improve research quality and build a motivational research environment for faculty and students.
• To enhance researchers’ abilities by exploring untouched areas of research.
• To create research-friendly administration and infrastructure in AGU.
• To strengthen the research community.
• To broaden AGU research activities through collaboration with research organizations and institutes in India and abroad.
• To support and promote AGU in developing strong infrastructure for multidisciplinary research projects.
