About IQAC

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Rabindranath Tagore University (RNTU) was established in 2018 following the successful completion of the University’s first NAAC accreditation cycle, in which the University was awarded Grade ‘B’. Since its inception, IQAC has been functioning as a dynamic and strategic body dedicated to fostering a culture of continuous quality enhancement across all academic and administrative domains.

Aligned with national priorities such as NAAC, NIRF, and the transformative vision of NEP 2020, IQAC, RNTU plays a pivotal role in institutionalizing quality benchmarks, promoting outcome-based education, strengthening research ecosystems, and enhancing governance transparency. The Cell ensures systematic documentation, data validation, academic audits, and performance monitoring to maintain consistency with evolving higher education standards.

IQAC, RNTU has been continuously engaged in the collection, processing, analysis, and timely submission of institutional data to various accreditation, ranking, and affiliation bodies. Through structured data management and evidence-based reporting, the Cell has significantly contributed to enhancing the University’s visibility and credibility at national platforms.

Notably, RNTU stands as the only institution in Central India to secure a position in the NIRF Top 200 rankings for seven consecutive years—an achievement that reflects the sustained efforts of IQAC in maintaining academic excellence, research output, governance effectiveness, and stakeholder engagement.

Through continuous quality initiatives, innovation-driven practices, and collaborative engagement with faculty, students, alumni, industry, and regulatory agencies, IQAC, RNTU remains committed to strengthening institutional excellence and ensuring long-term academic sustainability.

Key Functional Areas of IQAC, RNTU

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), RNTU, pays sincere and strategic attention to multiple dimensions of institutional development to ensure sustained quality enhancement and alignment with national and global benchmarks.

• Strengthening Collaborations:
  

IQAC actively promotes academic and research collaborations with national and international institutions, industries, research organizations, and professional bodies. These partnerships foster interdisciplinary learning, research innovation, student internships, consultancy, and knowledge exchange.

• Outcome-Based Education (OBE):

In alignment with NAAC guidelines and the vision of NEP 2020, IQAC ensures the effective implementation and monitoring of Outcome-Based Education. The Cell oversees the formulation and attainment of Programme Outcomes (POs), Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs), and Course Outcomes (COs), ensuring measurable academic performance and continuous curriculum improvement.

• Stakeholder Feedback Mechanism:

IQAC has institutionalized a structured and transparent feedback system involving students, faculty, alumni, employers, and other stakeholders. Regular collection, analysis, and action taken reports help strengthen curriculum design, teaching-learning practices, and administrative effectiveness.

• Smooth Coordination with Teaching Departments:

The Cell maintains continuous and structured coordination with all teaching departments to ensure timely documentation, academic planning, compliance with regulatory requirements, and implementation of quality initiatives. Regular meetings, reviews, and academic audits support consistency and institutional coherence.

• Faculty Development & Professional Training:

IQAC encourages and monitors Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), professional development training sessions, workshops, seminars, and orientation programmes. These initiatives enhance pedagogical innovation, research aptitude, digital competency, leadership skills, and alignment with emerging academic standards.

• Rankings, Accreditations and Affiliations:

IQAC ensures systematic data collection, validation, and submission for national and international ranking and accreditation frameworks such as NAAC, NIRF, and other regulatory bodies. Continuous benchmarking has strengthened the University’s national standing and sustained competitive performance.

• Research, Innovation and Best Practices:

The Cell promotes research quality, publication ethics, innovation-driven initiatives, incubation support, community outreach activities, and documentation of institutional best practices for holistic academic and societal development.

IQAC as an Advisory Body

IQAC is a think tank to the Institution, that keeps eye on the latest trend and technology, governmental policies, norms and procedures by accreditation bodies, and also on the adopted methods of other best institutes, also team IQAC, RNTU has owned sound professional that has their own thinking capacity, thus at number of points IQAC acts as an advisory body to-
